A DRINK driver has pleaded guilty in court to killing her passenger in a car crash.
Samantha Pickup, 21, was at the wheel of the Suzuki Alto when she lost control and careered into a lamppost, in Bromley.
Twenty-year-old Abby Groves, of St Paul’s Cray, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pickup, of Plantation Drive, Orpington, suffered serious facial injuries in the crash, in Bromley Common, about 50 metres south of Homesdale Road, on April 7 this year.
Firefighters cut free her and three rear seat passengers, two men and a woman, all aged in their late teens to early 20s.
They were taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough.
Police arrested Pickup on the day of the incident and charged her four months later with causing death while under the influence of drink and driving without due care and attention.
She pleaded guilty to the offences under the Road Traffic Act at Croydon Crown Court.
Sentencing was adjourned until January 3.
