A 48-year-old man from Lamberhurst died in the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells shortly after his car left the road and struck a tree on the A21.

No other vehicles are thought to have been involved. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 9.45pm on Saturday on the north-bound carriageway of the A21 just north of the Flimwell junction.

The man was driving a grey BMW three series. The accident took place close to a section of dual carriageway. Anyone with information is asked to telephone PC Mark Bage on 01233 611055.
