A driver has been killed after a car went over a cliff this afternoon.

Police and other emergency services are still at the scene at Capel-le-Ferne where the tragedy happened.

A South Kent Police spokesman said: "The body of a man believed to be in his 60s has been found close to where the car was found down the cliff.

"Police have launched an investigation but are not currently aware of any suspicious circumstances."

Dover Coastguard and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were among the rescuers alerted to the incident.
