A MOTORIST was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the A274 at Headcorn, near Maidstone. Police said the man, from Hawkinge, near Folkestone, died at the scene after his Peugeot car collided with both another Peugeot and a Mercedes security van.

Two Securitas guards in the van were injured and needed hospital treatment, but the woman driver of the third vehicle was unhurt.

The accident happened at about 4.15pm yesterday near the Weald of Kent Golf Club. The 57-year-old victim has not yet been named. The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
