THE driver of an HGV loaded with plaster board was lucky to escape serious injury when his vehicle overturned on one of Kent's busiest roads.

The incident happened on the A21 at Lamberhurst Quarter near Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday.

The driver was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells with minor injuries.

Police closed the road for several hours to enable recovery of the lorry and its load.
