Driver killed after taking wrong turn

A driver has died on the A256 today after taking a wrong turn down a slip road for buses.

The man, aged in his 40s, was killed when his car was involved in a crash with another car.

It happened at the junction with Dover Road at Tilmanstone, between Dover and Sandwich, at 10.45am after he'd taken a right turn slip road dedicated to buses.

The victim, who has not been named by police, is believed to be a local man and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car, which was travelling east, has been taken to the QEQM hospital in Margate with serious chest injuries.

Police closed the road until 2.30pm while serious collision and forensic officers carried out an investigation.
