A MAN has died after the car he was driving crashed into a field late on Friday night.

The accident took place at around 11.55pm on the B2231 between Leysdown and Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey.

The victim, a local man from Minster, was driving a silver Nissan Micra towards Leysdown when it left the road at a right-hand bend and overturned into a field.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with serious chest injuries but died during the night.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
