ONE person suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 on Wednesday night.

The crash, which involved at least five vehicles, happened between junctions six and five, near the Clacket Lane services.

All three lanes on the anti-clockwise carriageway and one on the clockwise carriageway were closed after the accident, which happened shortly before 8pm.

The incident caused long delays for traffic and police warned that the motorway would not be reopened for several hours.
