Police want to trace the driver of a white flatbed van who they believe was involved in a collision on the A2 in Medway yesterday, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

The coastbound carriageway at the Cobham turn-off with the A289 Strood junction had to be closed for more than six hours while investigations were carried out after the accident at 5.30pm last night.

Tailbacks stretched back as far as Bluewater durinng the rush hour, and into the night.

Kent police believe the driver of white van may not have realised what had happened.
