A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries this morning after his car crashed with a lorry on the A2.

He had been driving on the coast-bound carriageway at Bridge, near Canterbury, when the smash happened at 8.15am.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene and one lane was closed for an hour while the vehicles were recovered.

The man was taken to Margate’s QEQM Hospital with injuries described as “serious, but not life-threatening”.
