Two people were injured when a car slid down an embankment and hit a tree by the M20 near Maidstone.

The driver, who lost control in heavy rain, was trapped for more than an hour after the accident on the coast-bound carriageway between Junction 4 and 5 of the M20, just after 9pm on Sunday June 5.

Firefighters cut the driver free, while two ambulances, and a volunteer with SIMCAS - The South East Coast Immediate Care Scheme - treated the casualty.
