Drug dealer jailed for five years

A drug dealer caught with a stash of cocaine and herbal cannabis in a pub car park has been jailed for five years.

John Woolley admitted only possession of the drugs but a jury found him guilty of having them with intent to supply.

Maidstone Crown Court heard that the 22-year-old was in a Renault Megane at the Bell pub in Bredhurst on December 23, 2006.

Two police officers arrived and when they asked Woolley, of Wiltshire Close, Chatham, if he had anything on him, he replied: “A bag of sniff.”

A search of the car revealed 6.79 grammes of cocaine and four grammes of herbal cannabis.

Some of the cocaine powder was hidden in a speaker and more was in his pockets.

Judge Charles Macdonald, QC, said it was clearly a commercial enterprise.

He gave Woolley credit for his good character.
