Drugs seized in Shepway raid

Cannabis plants have been seized after police raided addresses in Shepway.

Two warrants were carried out on Wednesday, July 22 and drugs were found at a property in Willington Street.

Four cannabis plants were seized along with the necessary equipment for cultivating and a substantial amount of white powder believed to be amphetamine. Police are now seeking a notice for eviction through Maidstone council at the address where drugs were found.

Sergeant Andy Miller of the Urban Neighbourhood Team said: "The public can be reassured that we will seek out and disrupt anybody who thinks it is acceptable to use or sell drugs in our community. Although drugs are not a real problem in Shepway, they are illegal and in this case related anti-social behaviour has been making nearby residents lives a misery. If anyone has any information regarding suspicious activity then please call the Maidstone Urban neighbourhood team on 01622 604391."
