The Duchess of Sussex is pregnant, Kensington Palace has confimed, sparking excitement across Kent.
Harry and Meghan, who have just touched down in Sydney as part of their first major international tour, broke the news to other members of the Royal Family at Eugenie's wedding on Friday.
They are expecting their first child next spring.
The couple made the announcement after they touched down in Australia this morning.
The couple who married in late May were seen holding hands as they stepped off the plane, with Megan pictured beaming.
They will also visit Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand, with the main event this year's Invictus Games being held in Sydney.
The announcement has sparked excitement across the county.
Rachael Spratt from Canterbury tweeted: "Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child next year, let’s hope it’s a girl and I can set my child up with it, in a bid to finally meet the royal family."
Pickled food producer Opies, which is based in Sittingbourne, said: "Congrats to Harry and Meghan on the Royal baby news! Meghan if you have any cravings for pickles just let us know and we can help you out!"
Basepoint Dartford tweeted: "A huge congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!"
Diana, Alice and Arthur are the early favourites to be the name of the new baby, who will be seventh in line to the throne.
Other names touted include Edward, Elizabeth and James.
Betfair spokesman Katie Baylis said: “Meghan’s loose coat at Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday led to speculation that an announcement was imminent and now that we have it, the Royal Baby name game starts.
“At this stage Diana, Arthur and Alice, which was favourite at different stages for Kate and William’s babies, are the 12/1 front runners.
"However, with months until the baby is born, those odds will shorten, change and other names will come to the forefront, so watch this space.”
