Ebbsfleet failed to find the net for the seventh match in a row as they slumped to defeat against Tamworth at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
Skipper Darius Charles was also sent off on another miserable afternoon for the Fleet.
The decisive goal winner came on 26 minutes when Nick Wright broke away and found Bradley Pritchard who scored from just inside the penalty area.
At the time it was against the run of play and Stefan Bailey had been denied by keeper Danny Alcock after a great back heel by Magno Vieira. But after the goal the visitors controlled the game.
Luck was certainly against the Fleet. They lost Leon Crooks to injury eight minutes before the break and then his replacement Clint Easton failed to reappear after the interval after picking up a hamstring strain.
The home side's misery was complete 10 minutes from time when captain Charles allowed his frustration to boil over and was shown a straight red card for dissent.
Fleet: Cronin, Heeroo, Smith, Crooks (Easton 37), Charles, West, Bailey, Holmes, Welsh, Shakes, Vieira (Ginty 86). Subs not used: Lamprell, Forshaw, Wills.
Attendance: 867.
