Eco-warriors stage day of protests

Camp for Climate Action campaigners are today staging their first of two days of mass action.

An agro-fuel depot in Essex, the headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland and Gatwick Airport have all been targeted.

Just across the water in Essex, but within view of the Dartford Crossing, protesters chained themselves to the roof of the Vopak terminal in Thurrock and lorries were prevented from entering or leaving the biofuels base.

At least eight people have been arrested. This protest has now ended.

Meanwhile, students blocked access to the Royal Bank of Scotland in central London with a mass "death". This has also now ended.

In a protest over short-haul flights, activists have locked themselves to rails and displayed banners at Gatwick.
