A motorist accused of causing death by dangerous driving will stand trial in November.

Edward Parker, 51, of Sportsman Cottages, Kings Hill, near Maidstone, denied the charge when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today Friday.

James Molloy, 58, from Broadstairs, died in the collision on the M2 between junctions three and four on July 31 last year.

Mr Molloy was married with three daughters. They were in court today, together with Mr Molloy's brother and sister.

Judge Philip Statman, who presided over court proceedings, addressed the family personally and took time to explain to them the purpose of today's hearing.

Parker's trial will start on November 29 and is expected to last three weeks. He was released on bail.
