Elderly pedestrian hit by car dies in hospital

AN ELDERLY man died after he was struck by a car in a Kent town centre at the weekend.

The 72-year-old pedestrian was hit by a Mini Cooper in London Road at the junction with Tweedy Road, Bromley, at around 7pm on Sunday.

He was taken to King's College Hospital with serious head injuries but died at about midday on Monday.

The man is thought to have lived alone and had next of kin in Norfolk.

Police are investigating the incident, which led to London Road being closed for three hours.
