MAY 5 may be the date that decides the country's political destiny for the next four or so years, but there is only one vote that guarantees Charlton fans a seat - and a saving of £50.
The same day as the country goes to the polls to elect the next government sees the deadline for existing Addicks season-ticket holders to renew their place at The Valley for 2005/06 at a discounted rate.
And the club's campaign to alert fans to the deadline has been every bit as extensive as that undertaken by the three major political parties.
Peter Varney, Charlton chief executive, said: "May 5 is an important date, not least for reasons in the wider political world.
"But I hope as many supporters as possible will renew their tickets and thereby demonstrate their confidence in what we are trying to achieve at the club."
Although Alan Curbishley's side has taken just two points from the last 15 available and slipped out of the league's top 10 for the first time since November, the Addicks have still guaranteed the club will be playing Premiership football again in
2005/06 well ahead of the end of the season.
And with adult fans able to watch all 19 matches from the north stand for just over £17 per game, with renewing U16s paying under £9 per match, The Valley offers some of the cheapest prices in the top flight.
Mr Varney added: "Everyone at Charlton, from the directors to the players and staff, is disappointed at our results over the last few games.
"But we do intend to further strengthen the playing squad in the summer, and also press ahead with our ambitious plans to redevelop the club and The Valley."
Season-ticket holders have been given more than two months to renew their seats at a significant saving than after the cut-off date, with the £50 discount applying to all areas of the ground.
