Around one in four people had to wait more than four hours to be seen in a Kent accident and emergency department in January, figures out today reveal.
The latest NHS statistics show hospitals in east Kent were the worst performing, with just 70% of patients dealt with in the target time.
Patients in Dartford and Gravesham fared the best, with 77% being seen within four hours or under.
But all areas in the county performed worse than in December, with none coming even close to hitting the government's target time of 95% of patients being seen in under four hours.
In Medway, some patients had a really frustrating wait for emergency treatment.
Sixteen patients were forced to wait more than 12 hours.
Nationally, A&E units have had their worst month on record.
