When Sir Alan Sugar launches his next search for his apprentice, he should pay a visit to Swadelands School in Lenham.
Students were given just one day to make a product or service, accompanied with a business case.
As part of the Enterprise Day, the pupils’ products also had to be eco-friendly. Students competed against each other in their forms and the winning team designed a chess board, with all the pieces made from recycled materials.
Other ideas which were produced, included setting up a tour company, websites, and bags made out of recycled T-shirts.
Ruth Kemp, head of business and enterprise said: “We joked that even stony-faced Sir Alan Sugar would have smiled.
“But is was quite amazing that what the judges were seeing was work produced in just one day. It was a totally positive event.”
