Two horses caused problems on the A299 Thanet Way on Monday morning.
The escapees called in at the Chestfield services at around 11.20am sparking calls to police. They didn’t stop for long however as by the time officers arrived the four-legged creatures had scarpered from the forecourt.
The pair, dressed for the occasion with their winter coats on, then headed coastbound. Police had to close the road between Greenhill and Herne Bay.
After briefly popping into a field for a quick roam they were spotted in Quinneys Place, just off the Chestfield roundabout.
The owner of the black and sandy coloured horses were then called to come and collect the animals and they were given a police escort back to their stables at around 12.30pm.
