A prisoner who escaped from a Kent jail is back behind bars.

Raymond Atkins, 39, had been missing from Blantyre House Prison in Goudhurst since last Saturday.

He had been given home leave for family reasons but didn't stay in the hostel allocated to him in the Brighton area.

He was arrested in the Hastings area of Sussex last night.

A 51-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of harbouring a person unlawfully at large and is in police custody.
