A £60 million events centre at Bluewater will officially
open its doors today.

The centre, known as Glow, will include two main halls
and a private gallery area and will host many exhibitions as
well as some of the world's top musical acts.

The site also includes a plaza which contains 12 restaurants,
cafes and bars with Jamies Italian, Wagamama and Browns among
them.

Rebecca Cardozo, the venue director, said Glow is part of
the future of Bluewater as a whole.

He said: "We can actually provide visitors with a really
accessible venue, so none of those parking nightmares when you go
up to London.

"The catchment area has been crying out for an events venue like
this.

"During our research, before this venue came live, people were
saying it would be great for them to have an accessible venue so
that they can actually get access to acts that perform in London,
and now they finally can.

"As we pick up momentum and the events come through I hope we
can attract some world class events for the people of Kent."

Tim Hollands, assistant general manager at Bluewater said: "We
pride ourselves as a day out destination and now, with this new
venue, guests will be able to come in and see an event and once
finished can use other the facilities within Bluewater.

"Guests who live in London will now have more reasons to come to
the centre.

"It's important for us to have a unique selling point to
continue our ongoing success. There's no where else in the UK that
provides this."

The Glow opening comes just days after the opening of new
restaurants as part of the complex.

These include Wahaca, Brown's, Jamie's Italian and Wagamama.
