The currently unsigned four-piece, from Canterbury and Faversham, play a show at The Foundry in Canterbury next Wednesday (August 5), to celebrate the release of their self-titled seven-track disc (pictured above). Support at the White Horse Lane venue comes from local bands ElevenEleven and Five Floors Up.

The group, who formed earlier this year, are Kent and Canterbury Christ Church students Matt Crooks, Alex Fox and Dan Atkinson, all aged 20, and Kent University graduate James Delin, 23. James, originally from the East Midlands, joined as vocalist after the band auditioned for a new member by handing out flyers at the university campuses. Last month he also started his own record label.

But the band have stuck well and truly to their roots for their first EP, recording in bass player Alex's basement in Whitstable Road, Faversham and then adding drums and vocals at Christ Church University's music studios on the Broadstairs campus. Earlier this year, www.kentishgazette.co.uk featured an acoustic video performance of their track Francesca and since then, the band have been busy performing on the road around Kent.

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

Guitarist Matt revealed the workload doesn't stop now.

He said: "It's fantastic, we've had such a great response to our music wherever we've played, even in places where we don't know anyone.

"We're really looking forward to launching the EP and seeing how it goes down during our shows around the south east."

Among the venues soon to be graced by their blend of indie rock include the West Coast Bar in Margate on August 14, The Riverside Live Festival at the Command House, Chatham two days later and the Arundel Castle Festival in West Sussex, headlined by actor and singer John Barrowman, on August 30. A Sunday slot at September's Faversham Hop Festival is also on the cards.

Wednesday evening's show at The Foundry starts at 7pm, tickets £3 on the door and the band will be selling copies of the EP before and after.

Check out more of the band's music on their myspace site www.myspace.com/athousandwaystofall and from Monday, August 3 you can download new track, Colourful Indulgence, for free.
