The younger brother of former F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is gearing up for his race debut at Brands Hatch today.

He will compete in the 2011 Renault Clio Cup.

Nicolas Hamilton, 19, who has cerebral palsy, gained his National B Racing Licence earlier this year before signing with Total Control Racing for his maiden campaign.

He will compete in the 2011 Renault Clio Cup today and tomorrow as the series supports the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Nicolas said: "I have loved motorsport from a young age and watching my brother achieve so much has given me inspiration to make my own racing debut.

"I know this will not be an easy task, but I hope my doing this will give inspiration to others who have challenges in their life."

Tickets for the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch, with support from the Renault Clio Cup, cost £25, under-12s free. Call 0843 453 9000.
