Fair fuel campaigners are taking their fight back to the government today.

Motoring columnist and TV presenter Quentin Willson will lead a delegation to lobby the treasury and hand in a letter to Chancellor George Osborne.

The group will have a 20ft banner showing the amount of the fuel tax made up of fuel duty.

FairFuelUK was founded by Larkfield haulier and Shepway councillor Peter Carroll (pictured).

He said: "The government appears to be listening but it is absolutely vital that everyone who supports a fairer deal on fuel prices helps us to keep the pressure on by signing up on www.fairfueluk.com - we will only win if we can show the government the strength and depth of feeling on this subject."

The letter will urge the Chancellor to abandon the massive hike in fuel duty planned for April and to announce measures to bring down and stabilise the cost of fuel.

Campaigners will also go to the House of Commons to hand deliver letters for every MP, the second in two weeks.

FairFuelUK is backed by the Road Haulage Association, the Freight Transport Association, The Fuel Card Company and the RAC along with businesses and trade bodies.
