Legal proceedings are being launched against the government after an RAF Nimrod plane exploded in Afganistan, killing 14 servicemen including two from Kent.

Oliver Dicketts, 27, from Horsmonden and Flt Sgt Gary Andrews from Tankerton were both killed in the incident in Afganistan two years ago.

The MOD are accused of negligence, failing to minimise risk and a breach of the right to life.

If successful the writ could open the way for other families to sue the Government over the death of troops.
