THE family of a Birchington baby with a rare condition is hoping 2004 will bring a cure.

Nine-month-old George Webb is one of only 700 people in the world known to have Diamond Blackfan Anaemia, where the body produces few or no red blood cells.

The condition leaves him fighting for his life every two weeks and he needs regular blood transfusions.
