THE family of a grandmother found stabbed to death on Christmas Day has issued a tribute in her memory.

Valerie Twyman, 62, was found dead in her home in Conyngham Close, Ramsgate. A post mortem has confirmed that she had died from stab wounds.

In a statement her family said: “Valerie Twyman was a much loved mother, nan, sister and friend who lived life to the full.

“She was a very happy, spritely lady who loved life. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

"The family are deeply hurt and would appreciate being allowed to grieve for their loss in private.”

Mrs Twyman’s grandson Maxwell Twyman, 24 and also of Conyngham Close, Ramsgate, has been charged with her murder.

He has been remanded in custody by magistrates and is due to next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on January 11.
