THE prospect of facing Arsenal in the FA Cup proved a bit too much for one Gillingham FC supporter last night.
As Gillingham completed their fourth round victory over Bristol Rovers at Priestfield, a supporter collapsed. Paramedics on duty at Priestfield Stadium tended tended the man on the terraces before he was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We gave him some drugs to take in the medical room at the football stadium before taking him to hospital. We think he may have just got a little over-excited."
The man was said to be in his mid to late 50s.
