WHITE horses helped take tragic road crash victim Kelsey Murphy on her final journey, accompanied by hundreds of students from Thanet schools.
They gathered at Margate Crematorium on Thursday to pay tribute to the 16-year-old whose death had brought an outpouring of grief to the area.
Kelsey died when a Micra being driven by her brother, Aaron, 18, was in collision with a lorry at Hartsdown Road near Margate cricket club.
Hartsdown College, where Kelsey was studying for GCSEs, was closed for half the day in her memory.
The service, taken by the Rev Brian Moore, emphasised her love for life and every speakers underlined how she would not have wanted anyone to be sad.
Friend Lucy Thrumble said she still says goodnight to her mate and added:" “She always put everyone else first. She was the sunniest person you could ever meet. Simply the best.”
Kelsey's mother, Lorraine, brought laughter with stories of her daughter's practical jokes and read the poem Don't Stand at My Grave and Weep.
As at the crash site in Hartsdown Road, the crematorium was festooned with flowers.
