A PARENT is facing jail for viciously attacking a teacher in front of a class full of children.
Alfred Scott, 39, stormed into his son's school after he came home early complaining he had been bullied by Tom Neave. He headbutted the teacher and punched and bit him, Maidstone Crown Court heard.
Scott admitted that he had gone to Thamesview School in Gravesend to "humiliate and degrade" Mr Neave, 31, but claimed he only retaliated after being assaulted.
Mr Neave, from Rochester, was teaching maths to a class of pupils aged 11 and 12 on May 29 last year when he took Scott's son out of the room for being disruptive. The boy later returned with his father.
Scott, of Barset Road, Peckham, South East London, denied assault causing actual bodily harm but the jury took half an hour to reach a unanimous guilty verdict.
Grahame James, defending, said Scott suffered from depression and had tried to commit suicide. "He knows his final fate is almost certainly going to be custody," he said.
Judge Anthony Balston adjourned sentencing until September 5.
