The older brother of murdered Ashford teenager Ashley Dighton has appeared on a day-time chat show accusing his father of selling a story about the unsolved murder.
Ambrose Dighton, picture above, appeared on the show alongside his son David and defended his decision to be interviewed by Chat magazine. The story was published several months ago.
Appearing on the Trisha Goddard show, Mr Dighton, of Nine Acres, Kennington, said: “I will do anything to get my son’s murder brought to justice and put whoever is guilty of my son’s murder away where they belong.
“If that means speaking on the TV, in newspapers in magazines, I’ll do it.”
On the television show, David Dighton, 26, angrily accused his father of selling the story for £360 to pay for his wedding.
Mr Dighton explained the money was spent on an outstanding bill for Ashley’s funeral and not for a wedding.
Turning to David, Mr Dighton said: “I will still love you because you are my son, but I’m not going to give up on Ashley.”
Ashley Dighton’s dismembered body was found behind Sainsbury’s, Simone Weil Avenue on July 11, 2007. The 19-year-old, pictured right, had been missing for a month before the headless corpse was discovered. No one has been charged with his murder.
