Janet and David Peters had almost paid their mortgage off and began to think about investing in a property that could help grow their pension pot.
So they came to a new development in Faversham - their home town.
“We thought property would be a good investment and having lived in Faversham for 28 years we knew it was a great location.
“We went to look at the Fairview New Homes development Arterra and really felt the homes had a lot of character – they’re not just plain boxes,” said Janet.
“It’s a beautiful development and seems to have a good mix of people living there. The property we bought was at a really good price.”
Janet, 53, and David, 57, who run their own commercial vehicle repair company, bought a two-bedroom first floor apartment for £119,000, including a £5,000 discount from Fairview. Also included in the price were floorings, and a washer dryer, oven and hob.
“It’s a beautiful flat; very bright and airy. The finish is lovely and we don’t have to change things or even put carpets down. We already have someone renting the flat, which an agency helped us with. It has all been so easy!
“One of the main reasons for us investing in property now was the current drop in house prices. We think it’s an ideal time to buy, either as individuals or with friends. I would definitely recommend looking into it.”
Arterra is located just outside the centre of Faversham, ideally situated for road and rail connections. Faversham station is just a five-minute walk with regular services to London Victoria taking approximately 80 minutes. The M2 is just half a mile away with easy access to Canterbury, the international trains at Ashford and the ferries at Dover.
Prices start from just £94,995 for a one-bedroom apartment.
