Three goals in six minutes fired Faversham into the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off final on Tuesday night.
Lilywhites’ skipper Matt Bourne (pictured) scored twice and Renford Tenyue’s strike put an end to Hythe’s hopes of a second promotion in three seasons.
The visitors arrived at Salters Lane on the back of a 17-match unbeaten run and went close to an opener when Simon Overland tipped Craig Thompson’s header over.
However, Faversham took control of the tie towards the end of the first half and it was former Hythe player Aaron Lacy who did the damage against his old club.
With 34 minutes played, Lacy hurled in a long throw from the left and the ball dropped for Bourne, who fired home.
The same two players combined to make it 2-0 just two minutes later. Lacy delivered another huge throw from the opposite flank and centre-back Bourne volleyed beyond Dan Eason.
Hythe were rocking and they conceded again five minutes before half-time. Luke Harvey’s clever pass gave Tenyue space in the box and he squeezed a shot inside the near post.
After the break, Faversham offered little going forward but neither did they allow the visitors chances to get back into the game.
Hythe manager Scott Porter finished the evening behind the perimeter fence after he was sent from the dugout for kicking the ball away.
Faversham will now meet Maidstone United in the play-off final at the Gallagher Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
