Female driver seriously hurt in rush-hour smash

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car crash this morning.

The accident happened at around 8.20am on Dymchurch Road, St Mary's Bay, near New Romney.

The car the 45-year-old local woman was driving came to rest in the garden of a house.

She was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Police, ambulance and firefighters from New Romney attended the scene and the road was closed until 12.45pm.
