More on KentOnline
There are just a handful of days left to tell us about courageous children in Kent you think are deserving of a county-wide award.
Kent’s Children’s Awards aims to showcase the bravery, skills and talents of a unique group of children, along with their families, and the charities which support them.
Judges, which are currently sifting through a raft of nominations, have taken the decision to extend the closing date by just one week to capture final entries.
There are six categories open for nominations and you can learn about all of them here.
Our judging panel are seeking stories of determined teens, children overcoming obsctales, those enjoying sports or performing arts despite the limits of an illness or disability and younger babies, children and toddlers defying all the odds.
Accolades for a ‘courageous family’ and a brilliant Kent-based charity are also up for grabs.
What’s more – finalists will enjoy a fantastic gala lunch later this year with a celebrity host and entertainment for all the family.
The closing date for entries is now Friday, May 19.
The Children's Awards, organised by estate agents Wards, are supported by the KM Group and the Kent Community Foundation.
Aldo Sotgiu, MD of Wards explained: "All of our nominees and winners have overcome some truly immense obstacles and their bravery and strength is extremely humbling to all of us here at Wards.
"Every year we receive countless stories, that are both heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure, about truly inspiring children and their families who have triumphed in the face of adversity, and the charities who have helped them along the way.
"We’re excited to be hosting our 20th annual Wards Children’s Awards this year and to, once again, give our winners the opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge all they have overcome at such a young age."
