TRAVELLERS on green belt land have just 18 days to move off or face legal action.

Gravesham Borough Council won a 16-month legal battle in 2006 - giving eight families until October to leave the beauty spot at White Post Lane, Sole Street.

Since the victory, the council has searched the borough for a new travellers site.

It chose land near the new North Kent Police Station in Thames Way, Northfleet.

The council wrote to the travellers earlier this year to offer it to them but have yet to receive a response.
