The show did NOT go on when a theatre was evacuated due to a fire.
A pop concert came to an abrupt end when a fire broke out in the Central Theatre's toilet.
The Chatham venue had to be evacuated on Saturday night, as fans of the popular 1970s rock ’n’ roll band Showaddywaddy were enjoying singing along to their heroes on stage.
Theatre staff called Kent Fire and Rescue when a small blaze was discovered and it was decided to bring the concert to an immediate end.
The show featured Sweet and the Rubettes, who also enjoyed number one hits in the 70s.
If you were part of the audience affected by the disruption, you may be entitled to a refund.
