A road has reopened after fire crews tackled a blaze at a home.
Cars were being turned around last night as multiple fire engines were called to the property at the junction of Hackington Road and Summer Lane in Tyler Hill, near Canterbury.
People living in the area are being advised to close their windows and doors due to smoke coming from the blaze.
The crews were spotted close to Tyler's Kiln pub in Hackington Road from about 4.30pm.
A resident said: "Neighbours think the fire started in an outbuilding and spread to a neighbouring property.
"One of the fire engines is parked outside the pub but the fire itself is further down the hill, where there are two or three more engines.
“Police and fire crews have put up road blocks to stop cars and pedestrians getting near.
"They are using a height vehicle to get on top of the flames."
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service added: “People living near to Hackington Road are being advised to close windows and doors due to smoke coming from a fire at a house.
“Please be advised that Hackington Road will also be closed temporarily.”
Eight fire engines are at the scene, where firefighters are continuing to work to put out the flames.
The fire service has been asked for an update this morning.
