A car was almost totally destroyed last night in a deliberate fire.

Fire fighters from Medway station were called to Beatty Avenue, Gillingham at 6.51pm.

Two pumps and their crews spent around 30 minutes dousing the flames.

It is thought the Rover 414 was deliberately set alight.

No injuries were reported and there was no damage to surrounding properties.
