Firefighters battle hay blaze

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a rural area of Woodchurch on Saturday, after a trailer carrying hay bales caught fire.

Three appliances from Folkestone, Ashford and Maidstone, were called to tackle the blaze, which was spotted by the driver of the tractor which was which was hauling the trailer.

The fire broke out at around 1pm in Redbrook Street and 12 firefighters worked for more than 90 minutes to bring it under control.

The driver of the tractor was unharmed and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
