FIREFIGHTERS been called to a field which is alight in Meopham, near Gravesend. An area of three hundred by one hundred metres of standing corn is alight.

Six pumps have been called to attend the incident at Longfield Road.

The fire brigade in east Kent are also reported to be busy dealing with incidents associated with the hot weather.
