Firefighters tackle large grass blaze

Six fire engines are at Lydd ranges where there is a large grass fire.

Kent Fire and Rescue Services were alerted to the blaze in Galloways Road at 5.28am.

Very dry undergrowth and reeds caught fire. Firefighters from Folkestone, Lydd, New Romney and Ashford are tackling the blaze.

Firefighters have been called to the area several times over the last few days. They were called to grass alight in Drury’s Gap Road at 1.45 on Sunday and to Camber Road on Saturday evening where undergrowth was alight.
