A LARGE warehouse in St Anthony’s Way at Strood has been badly damaged by fire. The blaze raged throughout last night.

Fire and rescue crews from many parts of the county were called to the blaze at about 11pm last night and 10 pumps were still at the scene this morning.

A spokesman for Skipaway Ltd, who own the warehouse, said: “We have had a serious fire at our warehouse and the back of it is damaged. We have no idea what caused the blaze at the moment, and we are unsure of the true extent of the damage.”

The warehouse is used as a waste transfer station.
