With the stamp duty holiday extended to become a permanent fixture, many young people will be able to buy their first homes and save themselves the hassle of renting.
One couple who have just bought at Crest Nicholson's Avante development in Coxheath, were eager to stop renting because of the hassle of having to move every year.
They wanted the stability of owning their own home - made possible by the shared equity scheme on offer at the site.
Marcus Nye, 28, and his partner Emma-Elizabeth Hamilton-Holman, 30, had been renting for four years and were concerned about not being able to set down permanent roots.
They decided they needed to have the stability of their own home and were pleased to hear the news of the recent stamp duty extension. Living and working near Coxheath, Maidstone, the couple were aware of Avante.
Marcus said: "We really liked the look of Avante and were impressed by the planning of the site, for example, the visitor parking offered, which a lot of new developments don't factor in.
"It is also really convenient as it has halved my journey to work, as well as being close enough to town for us to easily socialise with our family and friends.
"The eco-features and modern design were also a big plus for us and our bills have dropped considerably since living here.
"We really wanted to be able to own our own home as quickly as possible so we were very interested to hear about the shared equity schemes that Crest Nicholson offer."
Avante is an innovative collection of 150 highly contemporary one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
Designed by award winning architects Sheppard Robson, the development has been designed using a modern mix of materials, giving the development a fresh and modern look that also manages to blend in with the local Kentish village surroundings.
Annette Cole, sales and marketing director at Crest Nicholson Eastern said: "Avante is perfect for first time buyers looking to get on the property ladder.
"Coxheath is a fantastic village with plenty of great travel links and local amenities, which is ideal for young people looking to set down some roots in a stable environment.
"The properties have a very modern look to them which appeals to stylish young couples like Marcus and Emma, as well as the eco- features not only being friendly to the environment but also to residents wallets."
Properties at Avante have a number of innovative eco-features, including low energy lighting throughout, that helps reduce electricity consumption.
Homes also feature a whole-house ventilation system with heat recovery which provides a constant background flow of fresh tempered air to the home and extracts condensation - the result is lower humidity, a healthier living environment and lower energy bills.
Prices for a two bedroom property at Avante start from £202,500.
