Mourners at the funeral of a popular cafe owner were encouraged to remember how he lived rather than how he died.
Andrew Cresswell was 51 when he was found dead at Pivington Mill industrial estate near Pluckley on November 11 last year.
A post mortem revealed he had been hit over the head and police launched a murder investigation.
Snow covered the ground on Friday morning when bikers, led a Ford V8 which carried Mr Cresswell’s wicker coffin.
There were so many people at the funeral that cars had to park on the road outside the Charing Crematorium and a third of mourners were left outside in the snow.
The family and friends of Mr Cresswell, known as Andy or Cressie, arranged the ceremony themselves and paid their respects in a touchingly personal way.
There were memories from family and friends, including from the Lashenden Air Warfare Museum at Headcorn Aerodrome, who told anecdotes about Mr Cresswell's passion as an aviation historian.
Appropriate music included the Dambusters theme and the Battle of Britain. Other music included Blondie’s Heart of Glass and Benny Hill’s Ernie the Fastest Milkman in the West.
