Five people were arrested and charged as a result.

Dariusz Sieredzinski, 33, of Maidstone Road, Rochester, was charged with conspiracy to control prostitution for gain, three counts of possessing articles for use in fraud and two further charges of fraud.

Justyna Sieredzinska, 29, from Kettering, was charged with conspiracy to control prostitution for gain, two offences of attaining/possessing criminal property and two offences of fraud.

Maceij Sidorkiewicz, 30, also from Kettering, was charged with two counts of attaining/possessing criminal property and two offences of fraud.

Mariusz Moniuszko, 39, from Corby, was charged with 17 fraud offences, conspiracy to control prostitution for gain, two counts of arranging or facilitating travel with a view to exploitation, possessing criminal property to the value of £17,815, and five counts relating to the possession/making of indecent images of children/prohibited images.

Wladyslaw Kieruc, 55, from London, was charged with three counts of perverting the course of justice.

All five had been remanded in custody before they appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Working in partnership with Surrey Police, the Polish Policja also arrested a 32-year-old man in Poland for similar offences. He has since been remanded into Polish custody.

The warrants formed part of an intelligence-led operation following months of planning to disrupt modern slavery offences, including trafficking and prostitution, across the UK.

It is understood that armed police spotted in Sittingbourne on Tuesday morning were part of the same operation, although Surrey Police would not confirm it was linked.
