A high-speed police pursuit through the county early on Saturday morning ended with the arrest of five people.

The drama began just after 5am when a vehicle failed to stop when approached by police in Margate.

A 40-mile chase followed along the M2 before the car was eventually stopped by specialist police vehicles on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249 at around 6am.

One police officer picked up minor injuries and there was also minor damage to one police car.
